NOT EASY (AN OLD COMPOSITION)

Life is different in a foreign land,
You'll get wiser on determining whose the true man.
Life abroad isn't as luxurious as I once thought,
Got to be strong at heart, stomach, and mind for different battles---those I had all fought.

Sometimes, at the end of the day you'll think it feels so good to give up,
But funny 'coz you'll end up giving your own shoulder a friendly pat.

Nothing's the same here,
Not even a quiet room of your own(sigh)---nothing to do but just bear.
For thoughts are braver than the heart,
You'll learn to go on...regain a better, brighter, and a more courageous heart.

Even tears come not too often,
But when everything's quiet---everything becomes open.
The mask of a strong person falls,
And nothing comes next but to reach the mobile & make that awaited call.

No room for weaknesses as they say,
But when all are shattered---you'll find room to pray.
Nothing and no one can help,
'Coz everyone's busy on their own dilemma---too shy to be an additional burden as well.

Life abroad isn't easy,
Good thing that deep breathing comes for free.
Making way to free the heart,
To make room for new sets of suppressed emotions that will linger on the chest 'til it's impart.

(Poem I've written last August 27, 2010.)
